Republicans, being the minority in this state, tend to stick together, and really, they have to because who else would believe crap like this:

Closing the Gap

Kerry Healey and Reed Hillman are closing the gap between their opponents so that the polls are now down below 14 points with 2 weeks to go. Issues such as free college tuition and drivers licenses for illegal immigrants, lower taxes, and Deval Patrick’s non-engagement on pocketbook issues should be our concerns throughout the remainder of the campaign. Certainly the handling of the LeGuer rape case and Deval Patrick’s donation of $5000 towards his defense is suspect in itself. Would Deval Patrick as governor pardon Benjamin LeGuer and what effect would that have on our society? There are many questions on issues that have gone unanswered by candidate Deval Patrick. We as voters should be concerned by his management style in Massachusetts.

Some frightening facts have been surfacing about Kerry Healey’s opponent, Deval Patrick. Most of them aren’t things we would want to see in someone with the intent on being the governor of this state. Do any of you remember AmeriQuest? If not, here’s a little background information: Ameriquest was a mortgage lender who preyed upon lower income minorities and the elderly, scamming them out of their money using “bait and switch” tactics. So where does Deval fit into all this you ask? He just happened to be on their Board of Directors at the time this was going on. Being on their Board of Directors, one would think that he would see where the company actually made their money, and either do something about it, or find a job doing something a little more ethical if he was thinking of running for governor in the future. Since that time, Ameriquest has been battling lawsuit after lawsuit from the people who they made victims. More info can be found if you Google the topic.

Amerishyst - how clever. That’s not a racial slur at all, huh? No mention of why Deval Patrick was selected to be on that board, or the fact that he helped to negotiate the settlement — I guess that wouldn’t really fit with the whole Deval Patrick is a greedy bastard narrative. Mitt Romney is greedy (not to mention incompetent) bastard, but since he’s “one of them”, I guess that’s okay.

What would a website critical of Deval Patrick be without the outrage-meter-pegging topic of Benjamin LaGuer? Oh, and watch for the money shot:

Here’s another thing that recently came to light. Benjamin LaGuer was sentenced in 1984 to life in prison for raping a Leominster neighbor for a period of 8 hours. His victim was a 59 year old woman. After this man was tried and convicted, Deval sent him money, and pleaded with the courts to release him. Despite the fact that DNA evidence further implicated LaGuer in 2002 for the brutal rape, Deval can’t admit he was wrong, and wouldn’t even apologize to the victim’s family for supporting this monster. In fact, he stated that he is proud that he supported this sicko!!! Is this the type of person we want as governor of Massachusetts? A man who supports and defends rapists? Ouch. Even out-of-touch, GOP shills read BMG instead of Hub Politics. That’s gotta hurt the wonder-twins.

The best part though is the conclusion: Things will change if Deval Patrick is elected. A “vast cultural change.”

Yeah, gee whiz, gay people will be treated like human beings and property taxes will likely go down. Oh, the humanity. We’ll get competent oversight of the Big Dig and immigrant children will PAY (’cause it’s NOT FREE, folks) in-state rates for college tuition. When will this indignity end? We’ll increase our energy efficiency and the state economy will improve because we finally got serious about alternative energy programs like Cape Wind.

Please.

How about a reason to vote for Kerry Healey because she has good ideas? No, they’d rather vote for Kerry Healey because she’s not Deval Patrick. I can’t believe the GOP held the corner office for 16 years with this tired old story. Great strategery. People in this state are ready for change. Not just ready, they’re hungry for it.
