BMG Unity Party - Good times
(this started out as a post at BMG, but it got wordy, so I decided to make with the posty here - sooz)
I got there late. I forgot my directions and had to call Andy (Hi, Andy and lovely wife!) who managed to guide me in.
I just made it in time for the show, which was great. Jimmy Tingle is a hoot. It was great to see everyone (Hi, cephme!), and meet new folks too (Hi, mem from Somerville!)
What a guest list, huh? In addition to all the folks from the Patrick/Murray Campaign there was State Senator Pat Jehlen, Victory ‘06 Co-Chair Cam Kerry and my favorite Democratic State Committeewoman Kate Donaghue. I know I’m missing some folks (it was dark!)
It was great to see David and Charley and finally meet Bob, who bought me a drink even though I called him a liar. *g* (it’s a joke — no personal attacks, right?)
Blue Mass.Group has come a long way from their humble Type Pad beginnings. I remember there used to be maybe a post a day, sometimes two. Not much traffic. The writing was always good though, and that’s what brought people back. Back in those days it seemed that most of the folks commenting were bloggers (had their own blogs, I mean) and then things just took off.
It’s still too early to analyze the effect of blogs/bloggers and the community that has been created and how (or if) it has influenced politics here in Massachusetts. However, events like this unity party, which was attended by some pretty damn big heavy hitters here in MA politics and opportunities like presenting exclusive content such as the new DLP internet ad, it’s obvious that there is definite synergy between old-school grassroots political strategy, and new-school netroots activism.
Ain’t it cool?

Hi! (waves)
