Busy day for this hockey mom. Mondays are always crazy around here. There is too much to sum up about the LG forum, so meet me after the jump.

First I must add my thanks to everyone who made the Lt. Governor Forum in Lowell this weekend possible. By all accounts it seems to have been a huge success for all the co-sponsoring groups. There were many people out front, and behind the scenes who made this event happen, and I’d just like to take a moment here to acknowledge them.

I must lead off with Kate Donaghue who has been such a great friend to us bloggers from the very beginning. When a group of us bloggery-types first started discussing the possiblility of this forum, she was the one who really encouraged us to go for it and gave us some great advice on how to proceed. Thanks, Kate!

Dick Howe. Dick Howe. Dick Howe. Dick Howe is awesome. He just gets things done. We had many slings and arrows to dodge during the planning of this event, and he handled it all with such diplomacy and grace. When we lost our original venue I thought we were cooked. No way. Because of Dick Howe, that very afternoon, we had an alternative site that I think really worked out to our and the candidates benefit. He did an amazing job as Moderator.

Marie Sweeney was enormously helpful by sharing her considerable expertise and experience in planning candidate forums. She helped develop the format and created questions that really helped to cover a wide range of subjects. She also rocked on the panel with David.

I am so proud of our David, who suited up and really did a great job helping out with the format, the questions and on the panel with Marie. Our bloggers who helped out with planning and live blogged and were just all around wonderful: Andy, Chris, Elias, Lynne, massmarrier, sco, and Terri. You folks are awesome!

Andy, Lynne, David and I had a nice long chat after the forum. They want to know when we’re going to tackle a gubernatorial forum.

Good times.

    Ummm, gubernatorial burger. Yum.

How about a BlogLeft thingummy in June or July, before those on the primary ballots get too comfortable with the predictable questions from those other media?

I doubt we’d be able to get anything going in time for June, but July is a good possibility.

I don’t know if you urbanites have this problem, but out here in the big woods we lose folks to their summer homes and that makes organizing things in the summer months more of a challenge.

Thanks for the use of the laptop! The liveblogging was fun.

Great to see everyone. Thanks again, Susan, for the fabulous work organizing it.

Susan rocks, I guess. I don’t recall giving permission to you to use my face on the net. My anonymity is shot! I have lost all privacy! Whoa is me. A thingummy sounds wonderful. Splendid. Spectacular. Perhaps then Chris I can pick your brain for some yummy cocktail recipes and advice on hard liquor. We didn’t chat much this weekend, my loss.

Susan you owe me $1000 for stealing my picture (and with it my soul).

Chris, your live-blogging rocked like a rockin’ thing! It was time-stamped for cryin’ out loud. Good job! You are most welcome for use of the ole ‘puter. I’m sure my keyboard appreciated a writer of your caliber.

It was good fun seeing everyone again. We need to do a blogger jamboree again - but no candidates and no karaoke. :-)

Andy - I’ve seen you dance, white-boy - you have NO SOUL!

If there is a gubernatorial blogger forum under discussion count me in as an enthusiastic advocate. This event went well and proves that we can execute on a fairly high level.

I have two soles thank you very much. If there will be no karaoke you can count me out. I wanted to sing a duet with massmerrier and if I can’t do that then I have no intentions of showing up. Besides, most local business associations have us banned from town because we seem to close down businesses. Thats how nucular (spelling cur-toe-see of W) we are.
