Republican Edward L. Niemczura of Fitchburg has pulled papers to make a bid for the seat soon-to-be-vacated by State Representitive Emile Goguen who is not running for re-election.
So far three Democrats have pulled papers for this race, Mary H. Whitney, former Mayor of Fitchburg, Stephen DiNatale, At-large member of the Fitchburg City Counsel and David P. LeBlanc, former Ward 2 councilor.
Why is Niemczura running?
Lance May, a Republican state committee member who lives in Lunenburg, described Niemczura as a “concerned individual” who wants to give voters another option in the election.
Niemczura agreed.
“My goal is to put a choice out for the voters, and see if they bite for it,” he said.
