Boston Globe - Still Not Getting It

Today’s Globe has an article about the Deval Patrick Committee’s Kitchen Cabinet meetings that have been held thoroughout the state. The article includes this bit:

The committee has also developed a set of talking points aimed at helping loyalists steer attention away from the political stumbles that have dominated the early weeks of Patrick’s administration.

I haven’t been to all of the Kitchen Cabinet meetings, but I did go to the one in Worcester a few weeks back. The 40 or so folks at that meeting requested that the Committee put out talking points, such as were provided during the campaign, we were not issued them. We’re not the hardcore political operatives that some (I’m looking at you Boston Globe) would make us out to be. We’re regular working people who don’t have the time and resources to run down every statistic on every issue and as I mentioned before, I do not have Deval Patrick on my speed dial.

So what’s in these talking points? What Governor Patrick is working on, usually. Information about the New Bedford immigration raid. Information about the new healthcare law. Information about the proposed corporate tax changes. Pretty much the stuff that the Globe should be writing about, if the Boston Globe was interested in printing news about the Governor, instead of the bush league tabloid crap they focus on these days.

And they wonder why circulation is down?
